Match report A wet morning put the game between the Potters and Hayes in doubt, however with the pitch well covered the game was able to get underway at 1:45pm. The Potters captain won the toss and decided to bat first on a good looking track. The performance that followed deserves little words - shocking!!!
The Hayes skipper opened the bowling from the bottom end and bowling some accurate off spinners he ended up with 6 wickets. The Hayes bowling was steady and very disciplined and was too good for the Potters batsman on the day. In the end we were bowled out in the 46th over for a poor 125.
After tea the Potters knew they needed to take early wickets in order to stand any chance of pulling off a victory. The plan started well with the skipper taking the new ball and with his first delivery he got a wicket. This unfortuantely was the only highlight of the Potters bowling effort with Hayes knocking off the total in the 29th over for the loss of just that 1 wicket.
Just 4 points picked up on a day where the Potters really did not turn up. We are going to need to pick up our performance next week or else we will find ourselves in a relegation battle.
