Henley 3 v Purley on Thames CC Saturday 1st XI on Sat 13 Jul 2013 at 1300
Purley on Thames CC Won by 8 wickets
Match report
On a baking hot summers day the Potters travelled to Nettlebed to play Henley 3's. Henley won the toss and chose to bat first on a decent looking track. The Potters bowled excellently throughout the innings with Nick and Caleb bowling brilliantly moving the bowl in the air and off the pitch. The opening bowlers were well supported by Patrick, Cyril and Robbie alongwith some inspired fielders, most notably Dan 'Village' Clark who took 3 outstanding slip catches during the innings. In the end we bowled Henley out for 114 in 33.1 overs, Nick took 4, Caleb 3, Robbie 2 and Patrick 1.
After a lovely tea the Potters began their pursuit. The skipper was bwoled 6th ball for 4 after Dan Hayden bowled a lovely away swinger which clipped the off bail. The in form Reebs then combined with Amit to set up the chase. After Amit was stumped Robbie came in and in the end the Potters reached their target from 21.1 overs.
A great performance by everyone, the most complete display of the season and a 3rd win in a row. More of the same next week!!!
