Match report The Potters travelled to Chalfont St Peter for this Saturdasy TVL clash. It was a hot and humid day with forecasts for rain later. The Chalfont skipper won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry looking track.
The Potters bowlers continued on from last week with some excellent, disciplined bowling giving the batsman little oppurtunity to get on top. There was also some excellent fielding which helped build on the pressure that the bowlers were exerting. There was a 5 wicket haul from the 'Secret' Cyril Cox, 2 wickets from skipper, 1 run out, 1 for Rahu and 1 for Alex who bowled an excellent spell. Special mention has to go to Robbie Jeffery who took one of the best catches in Purley history made even more special by the early misjudgement he made which saw him having to dive one handed backwards to cling on!!!
The Potters knew that the forecast was not good for the early evening so had to get on with the chase to ensure they clinched the victory. The skipper decided to chance his arm against the spinners after Chalfont elected to keep the old ball. The Potters successfully reached the target in the 31st over for the loss of 2 wickets. The skipper made 61 from 45 balls with Reebs 34 not out, yet again seeing us home!
Great win by the team and that is 4 wins out of 5 now. Need to keep improving and gaining more consistency in are performances will help us move up the league!
