Kew 2 v Purley on Thames CC Saturday 1st XI on Sat 07 Sep 2013 at 1230
Purley on Thames CC Won by 9 wickets
Match report
The Potters travelled to lovely London to take on Kew 2's for the last game of the TVL season. There was heavy showers on the journey to the ground and when we arrived the pitch was uncovered and unsuprisingly damp!
Kew 2's won the toss and decided to bat first. Alex and Dave took the new ball and after a quick start from the Kew openers the in form Dave Lincoln began to get into his rhythm. Dave took the first 5 wickets to fall and with support from the other end from all the bowlers the Potters began to take control. Some excellent catching and fielding meant any chances offered were taken, firstly debutant Joe Greenidge took a sharp slip catch and then Rahu clung on at gully. Kew were eventually all out for 92 in 33 overs.
In reply the Potters started steadily with Amit and Patrick batting well. Amit fell just before we chased the target to a fine catch by the keeper. The Potters reached the target after 19 overs with the skipper unbeaten on 50.
Great end to the season and a 5th placed finish.
