Match report A thrilling encounter which neither side could afford to lose, ended in a winning draw for Purley on Thames. Purley won the toss and elected to bat and made 244 for 8 off 52 overs with the highlights being a Jack Purser 69 not out and a George Wheeler 68. In reply the Wokingham skipper Windy David helped our cause as he ran his fellow opener out without facing a ball and then he ran himself out thanks to a direct throw by Jack. Gautham Kamath picked up three wickets and Jeff Hinds two as Wokingham edged closer to the total and going into the last over all three results were still possible, a streaky four through the slips meant Wokingham only needed 6 off three balls but some great bowling by Jack Purser meant that it ended in a draw with Purley claiming 15 points and Wokingham 9.
