Match report Purley on Thames Sunday XI began their 2013 with an impressive home win over Moulsford at Goosecroft. Moulsford won the toss and elected to bat. Will Perry was first out as he dragged on an attempted pull shot and was bowled by Vikram Kamath. Moulsford skipper had played and missed at Dave Lincoln several times but he eventually edged one and was caught behind by Andrew Clarke. Purley skipper, Barry Carter brought himself on and with his first ball bowled the dangerous looking Jay. The scenario happened when both George Wheeler and George Clarke came onto bowl the latter ending with figures of 3 for 3. Sam Woodhouse wrapped up the innings with his fourth ball as he dismissed Dave Gilmore for 1 and Moulsford were all out for 60 off 25.4 overs.
Purley quickly lost Ashley Hillier as he mistimed a pull and was bowled for 1. Pete Rackley and Paul Reber saw Purley home to an eight wicket win after Andrew Clarke was out LBW for 8 with Pete ending on 26 not out which included 5 fours and Paul 23 not out as he hit the winning runs. Purley finished on 61 for 2 off 13.3 overs. A good start to the season, long may it continue.
