Purley on Thames CC Under 9 Panthers v Sulhamstead & Ufton on Sun 19 May 2013 at 1000
Purley on Thames CC Won by 111 runs
Match report
The Young Potters started their league campaign a home to a Sulhamstead team, greatly weakened by last years team leaving en masse. That said it was a highly clinical job by the team. Skipper James Leach loss the toss and was asked to field first. Some excellent bowling by the whole team ensured Sulhamstead were always struggling, and regular wickets coupled with only 9 wides and 6 no balls restricted Sulhamstead to 208. Jude Jackson picked up 2 wickets in his 2 over spell. The coach set the Potters the target of losing no wickets in reply, which they nearly achieved with the only dismissal being from some dodgy running between the wickets. The lads know there will be tougher games to come, but if they keep improving like they are, we could be in for a successful season. Well done fellas.
