Match report A great start to the season with a maximum points win against newcomers Sonning 4. The skipper lost the toss and we were put in to bat. The skipper's bad day continued as he lost his off stump without scoring in the 3rd over. Kevin (52) and Pahi put on 48 before Pahi was lbw for 22. We struggled for a while and were 77-6 before some excellent batting from the last 4 with Jack (16), Mridul (31) and a fine last wicket partnership of 24 from the youngsters with Sam 17no and Harry 14.
This took us to 212 all out. Kevin batted for 40 overs for his 52 which was excellent for the team. We started fantastically with Harry bowling two in the first over. Harry and Mridul bowled superbly for 14 overs and we had them 46-5. We then had a difficult spell before Rob Clarke, Jack and Sam chipped in with a wicket each. However, it needed Harry's return to claim the final two wickets and complete his 5-21 from 10.1 overs, a superb effort. A win by 56 runs was a great start to the season.
