Match report The Potters entertained Hurst on a gloriously sunny day up at the Goosecroft. The skipper won the toss on his birthday and elected to bat first and a decent looking track and fast outfield.
Unfortunately for the skipper he was out for a duck edging to the keeper on the 6th ball :( The start did not get any better for the Potters as more wickets tumbled leaving us 50 for 5. The returning Nigel Bentley then entered the game and counter attacked well. Together with Howard a rebuilding job was carried out to get the Potters back into the game. In the end the Potters ended 175 for 9 from their 52 overs, Nigel top scoring with 68.
In reply the Hurst innings also got off to a shaky start with 2 wickets falling early on. Some good bowling was unfortuantely not supported by good catching as the Potters dropped 3 catches in the innings. Hurst built well with the Smith brothers looking composed at the crease. Hurst eventually chased down the 175 target in the 44th over and won the game with 5 wickets to spare.
