Match report The Potters travelled to the new home of Wokingham cricket Club for this weeks TVL encountry. The morning saw many heavy showers which meant play could not start on time. After some warm sunshine had baked the wet ground play could get started at 2:15pm. The match was now reduced to 88 overs. The Potters skipper called correctly and chose to take the field first.
Some excellent early bowling put the Wokingham top order under pressure with runs very hard to come by. The wily Cyril Cox bowled a 16 over spell which claimed 4 victims. At the other end Robbie and Rahu kept things tight and chipped away with a few wickets. The skipper also did his bit with 3 wickets and a one handed catch to get rid of the dangerous Wokingham skipper. Wokingham were all out for 139 from 45.2 overs.
After a pleasant tea the Potters began their chase. A couple of early wickets fell so Dhan and the skipper had to rebuild. The skipper was unfortunately ran out for 31 and more wickets soon followed. In the end the Potters finished 4 runs short of victory at 136 for 7. Robbie Jeffery was 38 not out. Both teams got 7 points, but the Potters know they wasted a massive opportunity for a win and 20 valuable points.
