Match report
The Potters entertained Royal Ascot at the Goosecroft in this weeks TVL fixture. Preparation for the game had been far from ideal as 4 changes to the team had to be made on Friday.
The Ascot skipper won the toss and showed no hesitation in choosing to bat. The Ascot innings was steady with only 1 wicket falling in the first 30 overs. Half centuries from Gamble and Wensley laid a good platform but the expected late overs assault never came as wickets tumbled. The Ascot innings ended on 209 for 9 from their 52 overs. Special mention to Reebs for his 20 over spell, picking up 4 wickets.
The Potters reply started well with the skipper and Cloughy scoring freely. After the near 50 opening stand wickets tumbled as partnerships were not established. The skipper fell for 62 and only Reebs and Khan were ableto resist for any length of time. The Potters were all out in the 40th over for 169.
Bad result which sees us back in the bottom 2.
