Princes Risborough v Purley on Thames CC Saturday 2nd XI on Sat 31 May 2014 at 1pm
Purley on Thames CC Lost by 9 wickets
Match report
Purley on Thames had a dismal trip to Princes Risborough, the decision by the Purley skipper to bat first on a decidedly spongy & damp wicket was somewhat surprising and in the end proved to be disastrous as Purley struggled after losing opener, Pete Rackley in the second over, some tight bowling followed and Purley found themselves 2 for 3 after 12 overs. Chris Priestley was the pick of the batsmen with a valiant 19 but when he was eighth out with the score on 40 it was only a matter of time. Oli Chatwin and Cyril Cox batted well for 11 overs before Oli was LBW for 9 to leave Cyril 6 not out and Purley 62 all out off 41 overs. Princes Risborough made light work of the 63 needed for victory although they did give half chances all the way through the 10 overs before they finally won by 9 wickets.
