Match report WOW!!! What a performance from the boys. Against a team of county and district players we pulled off a fantastic win against Finchampstead. George lost the toss and their skipper chose to bat. He opened the batting and looked like he was seeing a beach ball rather than a cricket ball. He made a superb 114 before George took a skier from James Denton's bowling. At halfway it looked like they would get 200+ but the boys stuck at it, and they finished on 167-2 after 20 overs. James Denton was the pick of our bowling with 2-13 off 3 overs. The boys were told to play their natural game and see if they could get anywhere near this large total. George (43) and Max (30) got us off to a great start and we were 79-2 after 10 overs, so in with a chance. Rob Clarke joined Mark Price and between them they hit the ball hard and ran extremely well. They put on 83 to take us to 162 before Mark was run out for 23. Rob was on strike and hit a 2, leaving us needing 5 off 4 balls. The next ball he smashed for a 6 to take his score to 68no and us to 170-3 off 19.3 overs. A brilliant game of cricket and I was extremely proud of all 11 boys, a well deserved victory!
