Match report A fantastic game of cricket on a hot and humid day, and we produced a superb performance. The skipper won the toss and with plenty of bowling options decided to have a bowl first. It was hard work in the hot conditions, and we probably gave away too many runs in the last 10 overs. They reached 197-6 off 45 overs, with Freakes scoring an impressive 97. Arshad was the pick of the bowlers with 2-19 off 6 overs, and Rob Holman a nice throw and direct hit for the run-out. We lost Khan (9) in the 2nd over, but Pahi (41) and Arshad (28) batted sensibly and with great patience in a stand of 65 which gave us a good platform. Rifas came in and hit a quick 31. We reached 119-5 in the 31st over, so needed 79 off 14 overs. The skipper (9) and Nufail took the score to 143 before a smart caught and bowled removed the skipper in the 38th over. Sam (9no) joined Nufail needing 55 off 7 overs. Nufail got his eye in and smashed the ball superbly to all corners of the ground. With 7 balls left he hit a 4 to win us the match and finish with a fantastic 62no. A great win for the 3rds in an exciting match.
