Match report Purley on Thames batting first got off to an excellent start with Jack Purser and Kieran Barrett presurising the bowlers and fielding team by taking the score to 17 off 5 overs mainly by taking well judged singles. After Jack was out caught Ashley Hillier kept up the good rate with an excellent cover drive being his best scoring shot. Tom Purser ensured the scoring rate was maintained as he totaled 33 not out before enforced retirement.

Jordan Rowland and Andrew Clarke maintained the rate to reach 100 for 4 off of 18 overs.

In reply Theale and Tilehurst also got off to a good start of 19 by the 5th over before Ashley Hillier bowled Luke Adams, Harry Osborn and Jordan Manning put on 42 for the 2nd wicket with a display of good hitting before Ashley Hillier caught Manning off the bowling of Under 11 Robert Clarke (guest for the game).

Once Osborn retired on 30 the Theale and Tilehurst innings fell apart with 4 run outs and Sam Woodhouse's good spell of bowling (3 overs - 1 maiden - 6 runs for 2 wickets), leaving them on 85 for 8 at the end of their innings.

A good game - well played everybody.

Good points for Purley

Batting - good throughout - running singles to keep the scoreboard going, Kieran batted well for 8 overs - Jack's excellent 33 not out, Ashley's off drive - good pressure from Jordan and Andrew to push the total through to 100.

Bowling a bit variable - too many wides /no balls - Jordan Rowland - 2 tight overs, Robert Clarke - 3 overs for 9 runs, Sam Woodhouse 3 very good overs and 2 wickets.

Fielding - excellent - good throwing and backing up - 4 run outs!
