Purley on Thames CC Saturday 2nd XI v Sonning 2 on Sat 05 Sep 2015 at 12:30
Purley on Thames CC Won by 7 wickets
Match report
Purley on Thames Saturday 2s rounded off their disappointing season with a comprehensive seven wicket win over Sonning 2s. Sonning won the toss and surprisingly elected to bat on a wet wicket and they were soon in trouble at 0 for 1. Sonning regularly lost wickets throughout their innings and some great bowling by Arshad, Raj and Sam did the real damage, they finished their innings on 152 for 9 off 52 overs. In reply Purley got off to a shaky start when Pete Rackley gloved a rising delivery to slip but skipper James Measham and Arshad steadied the ship and took them to the brink of victory, fittingly it was Raj Senniappan on his last match for Purley who hit the winning runs with a pull shot to the square leg boundary.
