Match report A very entertaining match for the neutrals (and the winning team). Disappointingly that was not us today. The skipper won the toss and chose to bat on a hot day and good looking pitch. Once again we had noone who got in and looked to stay around for a while, and gave away too many wickets too easily. The skipper (41) and Tejpal (42) were top scorers, but our total of 159 was at least 40 runs short, and once again we failed to bat our overs, being bowled out in the 35th over. That gave them 55 overs to chase 160. We didn't bowl very well and our fielding was a little sloppy. However, we had them 77-7. Bowen (50) and Fairhead (31) put on 49 before opener Bowen finally played a false shot. Once we had him at 126-8 we thought we had a great chance. We then took the 9th wicket at 140, leaving two under 14's at the crease. However, poor discipline with our bowling and fielding and cool, calm batting from the two youngsters saw them home in the 43rd over. 26 extras was very poor from us, and cost us this match. We need to improve this side of our game, and be more patient whilst batting.
