Match report Another very disappointing loss for the 3rds, as for the second week running the bowling and fielding was very good but the batting failed miserably. The skipper won the toss (AGAIN!) and put them in on a green looking wicket. Junees bowled 10 straight and put them under pressure with 1-9 from his 10 overs, a superb spell. Barry (2) and Cyril (4) showed their experience with 6 wickets, ably assisted by 2 catches and a stumping from the ex-skipper. We bowled them out for 130, which is a score that should be chased down. We started our innings poorly, with the Skipper nibbling one behind without scoring. Pahi started very well, and hit a big six but next ball tried to do the same thing and was caught for a top score of 29. Kirwin (15) and Adam (13) steadied the ship and a partnership was developing before the ex-skipper was given out by the new skipper LBW when the ball had hit his bat first! Barry (15) was looking good before playing on, and wickets then tumbled and we were bowled out for 97! A very poor batting display. Some much needed net practice and application at the wicket required to turn the good bowling and fielding displays into wins.
