Purley on Thames CC Saturday 3rd XI v Sulhampstead 3rds on Sat 10 May 2008 at 1:00pm
Purley on Thames CC Won by 7 wickets
Match report
Sulhamstead batted first and progressed steadily to reach 145 all out from 44.1 overs. Opening bowlers Tom Brampton and Barry Carter both bowled tightly to pick up two wickets each. Youngster Tom Purser bowled an excellent six over spell conceding only 13 runs but Raj Afzal's spin was most effective as he finished off the innings taking four wickets.
Purley's reply was built around a fine second wicket partnership of exactly 100 runs between Steve Dyer (29) and skipper Peter Rackley who smashed an unbeaten 85, including three sixes and nine fours, to guide his side home by seven wickets with 10 overs to spare.
