Match report Scorching hot day saw 3s travel to Falkland looking to maintain winning form.
Having lost toss (again) we took to the field and immediately made it difficult for Falkland to score runs.
Owen and Atif’s tight bowling was well supported by some excellent fielding. The first wicket arrived through a Junees run out and he then removed the other opener. The skipper weighed in with three wickets mid innings, James’s spin was causing problems and Richard grabbed a wicket. Total 158 /9.
Nick 3/25, Owen 2/26, Richard 1/31 and Junees 1/33 - Special mention to Atif and James who bowled 13 overs of spin for 32 runs.
Atif and Rizvi were quickly into the Falkland attack, when Atif fell for 20, Rifas joined his brother in a partnership of 44 to take us to 82 before Rizvi fell LBW.
110 / 2 at 20 overs had us strongly placed, a mini collapse saw three wickets fall for 3 runs had the potential to derail the run chase, however it was left to James and Alan to see us home with a partnership of 45.
James top scored 39, strong contributions from Riz (39), Rifas (36) and 20’s a piece for Atif and Alan.
Shout out to Richard for his over the shoulder one handed catch - can’t be coached, instinctive!!
Win lifts us to 4th with a rapidly improving average points #UTP
