Match Report...after a welcoming croissant and coffee on arrival...

Chalfont U3A won the toss and asked us to bat at the picturesque Chalfont St Peter CC.

Potterers included 3 debutants (Chris Bradby, Martin Sweeney and Julie Cook) and our first 2 partnerships got us of to a steady start being worth 25 and 20 for only 1 wicket.

Trudy and Martin Sweeney stepped up the scoring rate with a 3rd partnership of 43.

Our 4th partnership of Colin and Julie played well to take us to 136 for 1 wicket - net score 131.
Best batting Trudy 21, Martin 18, Colin 22 and Julie 19

In reply Chalfont got off to a flyer with 41 off 4 overs. But steady wicket taking through the 2nd and 3rd partnerships slowed the scoring rate and left Chalfont needing 25 to win off the final over, Colin's first 2 balls went for 10 which raised the pulse rate but Chalfont fell 5 short of victory. Final score 157 for 6 wickets - net score 127.
Best bowling Chris Bradby 2 overs, 2 for 5!
