Match report Potterers post 207 to win by 24 runs at Holyport.

Batting first the Potterers scored steadily to total 222 for 3 wickets = net score 207. All batted well and the loss of only 3 wickets (only one of which was a runout) is always good news. Best partnerships were John Print - Julie Cook 50 runs, Stewart Waight - Sharon Jackson 38 runs and Mark Allen - Nigel Weller 52. A good positive innings (including excellent drives from both Julie and Sharon) setting a good total for Holyport Tailenders to chase. Top scorers John Print 36, Stewart Waight 24 and Mark Allen 38.

After a tasty "lunch" the Potterers Umpire disgraced himself by being late onto the pitch for the start of play!

In reply Tailenders scored 203 for 4 wickets = net score 183. Again the Tailenders scored steadily but gradually fell behind the "asking rate". A couple of run outs didn't help the home sides cause, neither did a sharp catch by Gary Robinson behind the stumps off Chris Bradby (which the umpire was not sure about/missed but the batter, Malcolm, walked to save the Umpires blushes and illustrate the excellent spirit in which the game was played). Skipper, Mark Allen also took a wicket - his 10th of the season, and excellent economic bowling by all ensured that the Tailenders eventually fell 24 runs short and a well earned victory for the Potterers.
