Another sunny, hot day saw the Potterers welcome the Pedestrians to the Goosecroft for a 10 a side, 20 over game.

The Potterers batted first and got off to a great start with the first 2 pairs (Martin Bishop 22 & Barry Carter 20) and (Greg Santoro - Fergusson 30 & Chris Manning 18) getting the home side to 98 off the first 8 overs for no wickets. 3rd pair John Print 20 and Bob Dawkins 22 kept up the pressure reaching 142 (again with no loss of wickets). 4th pair, Steve Musson and Stewart Waight, stuttered slightly losing 3 wickets but final pair Colin Ainger and Bill Copeland pushed us to a net score of 194. But would it be enough against a very much unknown Pedestrians batting line up?

We had a rude awakening with the visitors rushing to 26 off 2 overs before Steve Musson slowed the assault with an excellent caught and bowled in the 3rd over. A mixture of good fielding and bowling managed to calm the middle overs and 2 good caught and bowled wickets by Barry "the Juggler" Carter kept us in the match. By the start of the final batting pair the Pedestrians needed 45 to win off 4 overs and the match was very much in the balance! However great bowling from Bob Dawkins (including 1 wicket), Chris Manning, Colin Ainger (including a wicket in the 19th over to slow the batters charge) and brilliant 20th over by Barry Carter restricted the visitors to 180 net - so a well earned 14 run victory for the Potterers.

An exciting game played in a good spirit.
